Abstract


Diare merupakan penyakit kedua terbanyak pada anak. Sebagian besar pengobatan diare hanya berfokus pada mengatasi dehidrasi, namun untuk mengurangi frekuensi diare belum jelas. Maka salah satu terapi komplementer adalah dengan menggunakan probiotik yoghurt. Tujuan review ini mengevaluasi efektivitas yoghurt probiotik pada anak dengan diare akut. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode systematic review, menggunakan 4 database: PubMed, CINAHL, EBSCO dan ScienceDirect. Sampel penelitian adalah pasien anak usia di bawah 12 tahun mengalami diare akut, intervensi yang diberikan berupa Pemberian strain bakteri probiotik dan pemberian yogurt serta artikel ditulis dalam Bahasa Inggris dan full text. Hasil pencarian literatur ditentukan 10 artikel. Ditemukan 8 artikel yang menyatakan bahwa pemberian bakteri probiotik dan yoghurt yang mengandung probiotik dan yoghurt plain (non-probiotik) mampu menurunkan frekuensi, durasi dan pencegahan diare pada anak. Kesimpulan penelitian ini menemukan penggunaan probiotik dengan jenis kombinasi multi strain probiotik, maupun single probiotik dengan dosis tertentu terutama bakteri Saccharomyces boulardii dan Lactobaclus rhamnosus dapat membantu mengurangi frekuensi dan durasi diare.
